Michael Wright, Sr. Pastor

MW_Pt.png

Pastor Michael began serving at CBC Georgetown–Weir in November 2021 and is truly excited about what the Lord is doing in and through the church. His wife, Cristina—the love of his life, his closest friend, and his trusted counselor—is an incredible partner both in life and in ministry. Together they have four adult children, all proud Aggie graduates (Gig ’em!), who are grown and thriving.  Son Stephen and his wife Jennifer live in San Antonio, daughter Connor and her husband Kalen reside in Garland, daughter Kenna and her husband Andrew live in Richmond, daughter Hannah and her husband Colton make their home in Georgetown.  They are also blessed with seven grandchildren: Macrae and Sullivan (children of Stephen and Jennifer); Eli, who is with the Lord, and Pierce (children of Kenna and Andrew); Finley Madison and Rowan August (children of Hannah and Colton); and Anderson (child of Connor and Kalen). These are the first seven—and the pastor and Cristina look forward to many more in the years ahead (with no pressure on their kids!).

Pastor Michael was born in southwest Kansas and grew up in Uvalde, Texas. After attending several colleges and universities, he eventually graduated from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership and a Master of Divinity from Liberty Theological Seminary at Liberty University. He has served in ministry for more than 25 years and considers it the best calling in the world. He also recently retired from a 39-year career in EMS and now looks forward to more time with family and with the church he loves.

He and Cristina have a deep love for the church and for the work of ministry. Their joy comes from being part of God’s plan in both their home and their community, and they genuinely love the people they serve. Outside of church, they enjoy anything that involves time with family—whether relaxing on a beach, hunting or fishing, or splashing in the water somewhere. For them, the place doesn’t matter as long as they’re together.
